Sprite overview of Assassin

Overview on General Assassin Builds:
1. Dual Dagger
2. Non-critical Katar
3. Critical Katar, equipment-based
4. Critical Katar, attribute-based

1. Dual Dagger assassins wield two daggers, one in the right-hand (main hand) and one in the left-hand (off hand), and are known for capability to deal extremely high amounts of damage over time. The primary focus involves maximizing damage output per attack cycle; since damage modifier cards on the off hand apply to both off hand and main hand weapons, the high damage is accomplished by either a combination of elemental weapon on the main hand and damage modifier cards on the off hand, or damage modifier cards on both the main and off hand. In order to achieve highest damage output to a variety of targets, however, one would require a vast arsenal of carded weaponry. Attribute distribution is centered around STR, DEX, and AGI.

2. Non-critical Katar assassins maximize effectiveness of the skills Grimtooth and Sonic Blow by placing emphasis on damage output per attack cycle instead of the tactical advantages of using critical hits. The advantages and disadvantages therefore revolve around the two skills. While Sonic Blow is capable of instantaneously dealing one high damage attack, it also has a very significant downtime resulting from its animation, so continuously using Sonic Blow often nets lower damage over time than using continuous normal attacks. Grimtooth gives the assassin the option to utilize ranged attacks; in addition Grimtooth deals damage in a small area and can hit multiple targets at once. However, the intense usage of skills makes a non-critical katar assassin more reliant on spell points, which generally means higher consumption of SP recovery items. Attributes are primarily based upon STR, DEX, and AGI.

3. Critical Katar assassins relying on equipment-based critical hits classically use a Triple Critical Jur (Soldier Skeleton cards) as the primary source of high CRIT. Base damage compares relatively low to other builds, so damage output is capitalized by high attack speed, which coincides with having high FLEE rate. Primary advantages lay in the nature of critical attacks: piercing the armor and VIT defense of the target, as well as bypassing the FLEE rate of the target. Attributes are commonly tailored so total CRIT runs over 90%. Attribute focus is on STR and AGI.

4. Critical Katar assassins relying on attribute-based critical hits are also known as "Natural CRIT" assassins. Since the critical rate for these assassins stems primarily from the LUK attribute, the assassin is free to utilize weapons focused on damage, rather than relying on Soldier Skeleton cards for CRIT. As a result, attribute-based critical katar assassins can easily achieve higher damage per attack cycle, compared to equipment-based critical katar assassins. However, the CRIT rate for attribute-based critical katar assassins tend to range from 50% to 70% due to limitations in attribute distribution. Primary attributes involve LUK, STR, and AGI.
