Cooking

The Quest
In the land of Rune-Midgards there is a chef who is famous for his skills so much that he has earned the favor to be the official Court Chef of King Tristam III. This chef is Sharle Orelean, and now he is offering his knowledge out to aspiring chef's.

To start down the path of a fine chef requires a few things,

first a short journey to the kitchen of Sharle Orelean, which is located in Prontera Castle, directly down the stairs left of the entrance.

Secondly what else could a chef need except a Chef's Hat? (Made by combining 120 Piece of Cake + 450 Dragon Scale + White Dyestuffs + 330 Feather) After completing these two things equip your chef hat and
talk to Sharle, he will give you a test to gather the items for one of the level 1 cookbook recipes. After you gather the required items and give them to him, you will be able to talk to Marlene Sheu, the sous chef who will give you some outdoor cooking sets and the level 1 cookbook. This will also open up the option to buy the outdoor cooking sets and the home cooking sets. You can't buy the home ones until you finish the quest though.

Let's Cook!
The cooking system is very similar to the creation system that alchemists use to make potions. To begin you must have the items that the dish requires, then you click the utensil that you are going to use. Standing may give a better chance of success (unconfirmed).

Note: If you do not have the correct amount of items and cookbook that the recipe requires, you will lose your cooking set.
If you have items for multiple recipes a menu will be brought up letting you choose which dish you want to prepare.

After you complete all the recipes in the level 1 cookbook talk to Marlene Sheu, the sous chef again and he will evaluate your culinary art (you need one of each level 1 dish in your inventory), he will then ask you to look for a friend of his in Payon (Rice Cake Boy 209, 127) and give him some wrapped food to test, when you return he will give you some of the level 2 home cooking set.

Talk to Sharle Orelean again (don't forget your chef hat) and he will open up the option to borrow other cookbooks. But of course this isn't the Library of Prontera, Sharle will impose a small fee for switching cookbooks with you.

Sharle only has 1-5 level cookbooks that he lends out. Anything beyond that requires adventurers to set out and find on their own.
