Advanced Class System

High Novice

High Novice
Sprite overview of High Novice

After reaching level 99, players have the opportunity to start their adventure all over again, with great advantages! EXP tables are higher than normal classes, but to add on that: RF has exclusive EXP requirements that are a margin greater than iRO.

Sprites for novice and the first class of a reborn character will have a minor palette change. While second classes (now called advanced classes) will have a major difference in appearance.

Rebirth and Job Changes

Rebirth Conditions
  • You must be a level 99/50 2-1 or 2-2 character
  • Your weight must be on 0, meaning you may not have anything on your character
  • If you are a Hunter you must take off your Falcon. If you are an Alchemist of Blacksmith you must take off your Cart.
  • 1,285,000 Zeny to read the book, after that your Zeny has to be 0

Rebirth Procedure
  1. Go to the Sage Academy in Juno, the Academy is located in the north-west part of Juno town.
  2. Talk to Metheus Sylphe and pay him 1,285,000 Zeny in order to read the Book of Ymir.
  3. Read the Book of Ymir.
  4. After reading the book head south to the bottom of the map, then turn left.
  5. Go down the stairs and walk through the maze. Keep walking until you enter a room with a spiral maze. Go down the spiral and enter the portal in the centre.
  6. You will enter a room with the Heart of Ymir, talk to it to get warped to Valhalla.
  7. In Valhalla walk north till you encounter the Valkyrie.
  8. You will now be changed in to a High Novice, so you can start your journey once again!
  9. When your High Novice has reached Job Level 10, go to the first class job guild to get changed.

From High Novice to High First Class is a simple task. You must be at job level 10, then you should proceed to the guild of your respective first class. Upon talking with the main NPC in the guild, you'll be transformed immediately.

To become advanced class, you must reach at least job level 40; then follow the procedure:
  1. Go to the Sage Academy in Juno, the Academy is located in the north-west part of Juno town.
  2. Talk to the Book of Ymir, which will warp you to Valhalla.
  3. Talk to the NPC suited to your second class

Differences of Advanced Classes

Other then the new, unique skills that are gained, a few other differences can be found juxtaposed below:

Status Points Novice One default point per attribute + 48 theoretical points (24x2). Limitation: stats maxed at 9 in allocation.
High Novice One default Point per attribute + 100 explicitly given points. No allocation limitation.

HP/SP Normal 100%
Advanced 100% + 30% = 130% HP/SP of normal classes.

Job Level Normal All 2-1/2-2 classes maxed at job level 50.
Advanced Advanced 2-1/2-2 classes maxed at job level 70.

EXP Table Normal 405,234,428 cumulative EXP for levels 1 to 99.
Advanced Over 3x cumulative.*

* Ragnarok Frontier advanced class EXP table is not identical to iRO, while normal classes are.

Naming Convention

A common misconception of the name of such a class is calling it "transcendent", which is the proper way of iRO. While RF is becoming more of a mirror image of iRO, it still wishes for such classes to be referred to as "advanced classes".
