Mages are arguably the most versatile class in the whole game. This is because they have so many different options for their skills (spells), and each choice is profoundly different from the rest. At first a Mage doesn't have too many options, but once certain spells advance to high enough levels, more choices will become available. For example, if a Mage gets Napalm Beat to level 4 they will be able to learn Soul Strike. A Mage should probably specialize in one or two elements. You only have 49 Skillpoints to work with, and that's not as many as you might think. Mages have more skills than any other first classes in the game, and so they need skill points (gained by raising your Job Level) a whole lot more than any other class. Add in the fact that you have to raise the weaker skills at least some before you get the stronger ones and you begin to realize how important it is to get a few strong skills than a lot of weak ones. It is highly recommended that a player gets his Mage to job level 50 before changing into a Wizard or Sage. Upon completing or not completing the Novice training, start training in fields south, west, or east of major cities (recommended one map north of Morocc). After hours of this amazingly boring activity you will finally be able to reach Job Level 10 and will then be ready to Class Change into a Mage. To do this you must find Geffen. Talk to the Teleporter and select Geffen. The Mage's guild is a building in the far northwestern corner of the city. Talk to the person at the back of the room and you'll get the option to become a Mage. Mage Job QuestYou can change jobs to a Mage in the Magic City, Geffen. Apply to a guildsmen inside the Magic Academy, located in the 10 o'clock direction of the city. Quest Skill Energy CoatReduces the damage the caster takes from enemies by shielding the caster with a magical shield. Consumes 30 SP when cast, and continues to consume a certain amount of SP when attacked. Remaining SP amount of the caster affects on the damage and the additional SP consumption for the next attack. Can last 5 minutes for the maximum, however when the caster`s SP amount becomes 0, the magic shield around the caster disappears. Only reducess physical attacks and has a 5 seconds casting time.
Requirements:
SkillsMages only have 49 skills to spend on and their skill tree is very complicated. It is highly recommended that you think about what you want to get as a wizard first then start spending on your skill points. Firewall vs SafetyWallEveryone has different opinions about these two skills. However it is agreed that to be able to keep leveling as a wizards you must have one of these two skills. Both skill are used to buy time so the mage/wizard/sage can cast more stronger spells. FireWall obtained by learning Firebolt lv 4, Fireball lv5, Sight lv 1 When maxed creates 3 cells of fire that each blocks and pushes enemies away 14 times before disappering. On woe it just burns enemy. Firewall does not block Undead, Undead monsters just take damage as they pass firewall Firewall also does not work against Lv2 Fire property monsters and Lv3 Water property monster and Holy property monster. SafetyWall obtained by learning lv 7 Napalm Beat, lv 5 Soul Strike Costs one blue gem to cast SafetyWall each time Maxed SW will block for 50 seconds / 11 hits whichever ends first. FireFire spells include: Fire Bolt Fire Ball Fire Wall Where to train with Fire Elemental Spells As soon as you have learned level 1 Fire Bolt, start training on Mandragoras. Mandragoras are found at prt_fild02, You go there by teleporting to Prontera then going East then North. Verify this by using command ( /where ). Train there until lv 20 They do not move and give decent exp. As you kill them keep putting stats to your INT. Also save all the loot you have. Sell the stems you obtain to Alchemists or Creators. Afterward go 1 more map North and kill Floras till lv 30. Go 1 N of Lightalzen and kill metallings till lv 40 then go to Geographer for better EXP. Geographer located on Juno, and it gives better EXP for base and job. Note that it can do range attack around 4 cells, just be careful with your distance when you cast, also separate them with firewall if they're too close, they can heal. Also, be careful with other monster in the area too. When you learned about level 3 Firewall its time to move on. Go West then North till Mjolnir_10, where Agriopes habit. After mastering Fire Wall, you have these choices: 1. Staying here, hunting Boots [1] from Argiopes 2. Going to Louyang, south one map to train off of Soils (lv 3 firebolt + max firewall) 3. Aldebaran Clock Tower level 2. Until reaching job level 50. GhostGhost spells include: Napalm Beat Soul Strike Safety Wall Where to train with Ghost Elemental Spells As soon as you kill Porings and weak monsters, make sure to get at least Soul Strike level 4. After that, start training in Payon Caves level 1. Bring some Red Potions to survive longer and always work on the Skeletons first until you have mastered level 10 Soul Strike. (Recommended you stop at level 9, because at lvl 10, it only gives you 0.5 sec faster cast, which is un-noticeable.) After you get level 9 Soul Strike, grab an Acolyte or Priest to party with, and go to GHC to kill zombies. Just be careful with Wraith, Dead Wraith, and Hunter Fly. Ice/Lighting SpellThis spells include: Frost Dive lvl 10 Lighting Bolt lvl 10 Skill ChoicesIncrease SP Recovery (1) Napalm Beat (10) Sight (1) Soul Strike (10) Fire Bolt (10) Fire Ball (10) Fire Wall (10) Lightning Bolt (10) Thunder Storm (10) Ice Bolt (10) Frost Diver (10) Safety Wall (10) Energy Coat (quest skill) See AlsoSageWizard Mage Skill Page∞ |
