Sage

Sage
Sprite overview of Sage

1.Sign up.

First, go to Juno town and apply for the test by talking to the Academy Staff NPC. He is found behind the desk in the large building at the top right area of Juno. When you sign up at job 40, you will be expected to pay some school fees. Your choices are:-

a) 70,000 zeny

b) Old Magic Book and Penetration

c) 30,000z and a random list of simple to find items like 50 clovers and 50 feathers

d) Free if you are job lvl 50

Once you paid up your school fees, you are allowed to take the first sage test. Got to the next room in the same building and look for Written Tester(he's the sage wearing a one-eyed glasses)

2. Written Test
There are 20 questions in this test. each question is worth 5 points. You need at least 80 points to pass. Getting past this test requires extensive knowledge of the RO game world including knowing the names of npcs involved in other classes quests, items sold in shops, name of gods worshiped by the crusaders, names of kapra girls, descriptions of other classes skills and norse mythology. If you fail this test, you can retake it again and again without having to refind items until you get it right. When you finally get it right, go find the Practical Tester NPC (still in the same building)

3. Practical Test
Simple enough if you are a battle build, but easy to be caught unaware.

Talk to the Practical Tester and apply to take the test, you will be taken to a room with a waiting room chatroom. Double click the chatroom and wait inside it until its your turn.

Once your turn comes up you will be teleported to the testing room proper; with a 3 minute timer. You start out at the center with a circle of AGRESSIVE chons chons and fabres a short distance from you. This is the most likely time you will be dead if you are a pure int build. I got through this part by immediately targeting any chon chon with a lvl 1 fireball to wipe most of them out. Defeat the rest of the simple aggressives at your leisure.

After you killed all the chons chons and fabres, a mob of non-agressive lunatics will spawn. Kill them all which ever way you like but remember the time limit. I also suggest you be at a corner when you kill the last lunatic, reason will be explained below.

When the last Lunatic is dead 5 whispers will spawn in this room. The 4 at the corners are not aggressive and they are not the ones you have to kill. The one you have to kill is the aggressive one that spawns in the center. However, he doesn't actually go all ou to look for you; hence why you stay in a corner, so you can prepare for it. Kill the aggressive one and all the others will die.

4 The Lecture
Now that you have passed the practical test, you are required to attend a lecture. To find the professor -Saphien Lylees (Yggdrasil Lecture), find the room that looks like a classroom.

This is the most annoying part of the quest for those who are unprepared. First the professor talks to you about Yggdrasilberry Tree and its history.
Then he will ask you to bring an item that is related to Yggdrasil.

You can bring either:
Yggdrasil Berry
Yggdrasil Leaves
Yggdrasil Seed

After finding either 1 of it and show him, the professor will continues the talks with you regarding the history of Yggdrasil which is boring.

Lastly, the professor wants you to write an essay but you need:

1 Feather of birds (used as a quill)
1 Animal skin (to write on)
1 Squid Ink (get this from Marse the squid in Byalan lvl3)
1 Empty Bottle
1 Wooden Block

Don't worry, thats pretty much the last of the item hunting quests. Now you are ready to write your essay. Dialog choices will appear, just chose the ones that sound serious.

5.Graduate!

This is simple enough. go to the Sage Castle at the top left corner of juno and submit your essay to the headmaster. Once the headmaster grades your essay, he will change you to a proud graduate of The Schbeitser Magic School
Also the headmaster will reward you with a 3 slot Book.
