Quick little guide to becoming a Super Novice. Will add more info once I get some more job lvls. Feel free to contribute meaningful or intelligent findings/information. Thanks to the GM's and also Tsunami guild (1 and 2).

Changing into Super Novice

Must be base Lvl 45
Must be job Lvl 10
Gather 30 sticky mucus (Zombies, all the poring classes, etc)
Gather 30 resin (Willows, Elder Willows) <----Go right one map Payon

Once you are ready, go to Aldeberan. Walk down the cross and turn left when you reach the water. The job change person is inside the first building you see.

Image

Go into the left room and talk to this dude.

Image

Congratulations on becoming a Super Novice. Some things you might want to keep in mind...

1) Play dead does NOT work
2) Reset prices are the same as prices for 2nd classes.
3) No more free Kafra warps
4) Super Novices have access to all First Class skills excluding DS and 2 hand sword skills.

Skills Calculator

Found this excellent calculator on the web. Use it to simulate your SN's build. Post your build here for everyone to see (or copy /gg)

http://www.stud.ntnu.no/~magnusrk/yeef/supernovice/

Training

Post good places to train here XD I personally like killing Dokkabei's. And Ghouls /gg

Secrets of Super Novice

I found this info after darkfire123 pmed me about novices special abilities. Source of this info is from GameFaqs.

The super Novice has its own five secrets.

- Secret 1
Super Novice has its own level up Angel. When the Super Novice level
up, this guaardian Angel will apper. This angel is different from
the angel that appers when the other job classes level up. This
Angel will cast some skills to the Super Novice. Some of them are
Kyrie Eleison, Magnificat, Gloria, Suffragium and Impositio Manus.

- Secret 2
The command /doridori can restore HP/SP two times faster. Shaking
the head is said to increase the SP restoration.

- Secret 3
According to hearsay, when a Super Novice`s HP reaches 0, their
Guardian Angel may appear to refill the HP. She may also cast Mental
Strength.

- Secret 4
It is said that when the Super Novice's EXP reaches increments of 10%
such as 10.0%, 20.0% all the way to 90.0%, Super Novice can summon
their own Guardian Angel for help. Follow the steps below and learn
how to summon your own Guardian Angel.

Type the following sentences in public channel:
Can you hear my voice, Angel? ^^;
I am Super Novice PlayerNameYeah~
Help me please~

Notice:
1. You need to type four sentences. You can type any words for the
last sentence.
2. You cannot MISS any of the characters above.
3. PlayerName is refer to the name of the Super Novice in the game.
4. Please don't type the words above too fast.

NOT IMPLEMENTED YET
(Peter just told me T_T)

- Secret 5
People said that something special will be given to the Super Novice
if the Super Novice is able to avoid a single death.

You know, I feel bad for those people who made lvl 75+ first classes xD. It was a total waste of time, because super novice has 70 skill points and not just 50, so if u really wanted to make a perma first class, you should go for super novice xD

Also, as a super novice, you can be a hybrided first class. I think I'm going to go make myself one. Smile

Leveling Guide for novices

Was chatting with Kuja(Asakura) like a year ago, and he forwarded me a guide he typed up for pandacrazy =D.

ShadowedShroud wrote:

Well I've decided on making a perma novice and wanted to seek for your help (with suggestions)

1) What are some equiptment that I should get? (ie. headgear, weapon etc)
2) How should i start off my stats in order to level easiest? (ie. go all dex)
3) Any suggestions on good leveling places?
4) Any other things that you might like to add

thank you for your time ^^

hey panda,

okies well, to answer ur questions:

1)

headgear:
the standard is a sakkat. another helpful one is a hat that's willow carded (sp really helps so u can continue envenoming and acting dead etc.; novices have very little base sp). u can wear anything u want tho, i wear a fuzzy hat cuz of the 1 luk and it looks cool XD

weapon:
3s stiletto is ur best friend. he best all around is to try to get it to +9 or +10 and triple andre it. if u want, later on, u can get a trip ss for pvp vs agi chars. it's also quite fun to have a quad status effect weapon ^^. only way for a novice to kill rogue is to silence him first, so can't bs. it's really funny when a novice kills a rogue.

shield:
slotted guard. only option. might wanna get a thiefbug egg card to make up for horrible horrible base hp. it's also nice to get dmg reducting shields. (eg. if u fighting bugs, get bigfoot; if u fighting orcs, get cranial; etc.)

armor:
novice breastplate. the description is wrong, it actually gives 10 def ^^. try to slot a roda frog or pupa in it to get more hp.

garment:
mocking hood.

shoes:
s sandals, up to u what to put in; this one duzn't matter too much. u can put matyr, verit, chonchon, male thiefbug, or w/e u want.

accessories:
well, i use kobold clips for the crit, but some kukres will be helpful to get some extra flee for mid-lvl. u also want a poison spore card for envenom, and if u can get ur hands on one, a marine sphere card. other skills such as teleport and detox rn't really necessary... but u can get them if u want.

2) to lvl easiest, get 9 str 9 dex 9 vit. get a lil agi, but keep ur main stat vit for the beginning.

3) just for the first few lvls, porings n such. if u have a good weap, u'll breeze thru. later, move on to payon cave. if u have a trip hurricane stiletto, u'll kill familiars in 1 hit, skeletons in 2-3, and zombies in a few too. in payon, get a good balance of agi and vit, str and dex being lower. bring reds or meat (u'll need to eat quite a bit in the beginning stages)

after that, IF U HAVE MARINE SPHERE, when u can get around 60-70 vit, reset urself and get that much vit (costs 10z to reset both stats and skills no matter what lvl u r). mobbing in geffen gives really good exp. u should be able to mob like 7-10 poison spores at a time. any more and u'll probably die.

if u don't have marine sphere, i guess stay agi/vit hybrid and try geffen. mobbing is the fastest way tho.

i don't really know where to train if u can't mob... cuz that's what i did.. but i guess when u can have enuf flee, go agi and kill hodes or something.

if u get to lvl 60ish, u should be able to take argiopes. these r good exp. get a guard of gargantua (bigfoot - 30% less dmg from insects), get 170-172 flee (maximum 172, if u get 173, reset and put another agi point into str - reset's pretty much free anyway ^^), and pump ur dex to around 30.

4) later on if u get to higher lvls like 65+, it's really really fun to take down knights, saders, wizards, sages, rogues, alches, non-crit sins, priests, and monks XD.

pvp guide (note, usually only works on noobers):

wizards/sages (novices r really good at killing any wiz/sage tho, my nov took down lucifer and harrypotter b4 lol, i just can't seem to kill kazi...):

all u need is act dead and a good amount of sp. envenom is really helpful too. the instant they cast something, act dead, then pop back up (timing can be done perfectly thru practice). envenom eats wizards cuz most have shitty def, and when they get poisoned, they get hurt a lot. if u get below 50 sp tho, stop envenoming, cuz u need the remaining sp to dodge spells with act dead XD

knights/saders (only works on noobs):

just get high enuf agi and they can't hit u. take ur time to hit them ^^. if they're agi too, u will need crit... so it's best to have kobold clips and a trip crit stiletto. i tend to get my luk up to 21 too. just for some nice crit.

rogues (must be noobs):

to kill one of these guys, metaller cards (5% chance to silence) r a must. u also need a crit stiletto, kobold clips, and some luk. an argiope carded novice breastplate is also good to have just in case they envenom. i have a quad metaller main gauche. works pretty well. first thing, pull out ur meteller dagger, and envenom spam them til they're silenced. they need to get to ur back to bs, so take this time to silence them. if u can pull it off, get ur crit out n jus whack em dead. remember, only works on noobers.

PS: might wanna get a horong in case they hide... try to make it a ground rule not to allow hide. say u'll act dead forever til they unhide or sth.

assassins (must not be crit, and must be low lvl noob):

same as agi knight/sader. only works on low lvl noobs... =\ u can actually get a novice's crit pretty high tho.

blacksmiths (must be really noob):

blacksmiths r... HARD. they will always hit u with some dmg, so u gotta kill them asap with crit if they're agi. if hammerfall stuns u, ur screwed.

alchemists:

u don't fight alches too often.. i never have. so i dun really know... i'm guessing just stab them dead.

hunters/bards/dancers:

ur dead, don't try.

monks (must be low lvl):

if they're dex monks, ur screwed. use a trip andre vs monks if they're not agi, and trip ss if they r agi. non-dex tss monks r reeeeally ez - just stab em with trip andre til dead and act dead just when their tss finishes. same with as - as is easily dodged.

PS: if u get rooted, keep mashing the the act dead button. if u can hit act dead the instant they do a hit, whether it be tss, as, or occult impact, u'll be on the floor invincible before the damage hits u. i'm not sure if it's possible if they use quad blow tho... i've never been able to pull that one off =\

priests:

whacky whacky with trip andre. act dead is ur friend here. just act dead the instant they do a holy light, then stab em. try to make it a ground rule no heal. if u can't, u really need metaller cards. during the duel, it's possible they'll try to lex divina u. the moment u see the lil floaty guy that appears above ur head, hit act dead. the silence comes a second after the priest casts the lex, and if ur acting when that second comes, ur immune to it XD

PS: these pvp strats r kuja-original, so dun tell ne1 ^^ ur the first one i've given my strats out to.

if u need anything else, or don't understand something i wrote cuz of my crappy english, dun hesitate to ask Very Happy

This is a rather interesting factor (or so I find) when considering your novice/supernovice's build-

10hp/1 vit
1sp/1 int

Good luck with your novices!
