Introduction:

You've decided to take part in the adventure of Ragnarok Frontier, a low rate PvP server. The first and most important decision awaits you, which should be your starting class? There are a variety of classes to choose from, each having their own pros and cons. You initially start off the game as a Novice, having a Base Level of 1 and a Job Level of 1. In order to change class you must get to Job 10.

Once you've reached Job 10 you can choose to become one of 6 different First Class Jobs or choose to become an Expanded Class. First Class Jobs then branch off into Second Class Jobs which furthermore branch off into Transdescendent Class Jobs. There is also the option of becoming a Super Novice; however, a Base Level of 45 is required. Make sure you have used all your skill points before you change.

If you are uncertain about what your Base or Job level is, read the guide for Basic Game Interface. This guide will explain the Basic Information Window and a variety of other game play mechanics. The mechanics of the game are further explained in the Novice Training Ground.

Beginning the Game:

When you start the game you will be given 15 empty character slots. Choose one of these slots to create a new character and begin your adventure. You will now see a Novice character in the left half of the window and a Status Point distributer in the right half. The status points are explained in the Basic Game Interface Guide and can be distributed as to your liking.

Do not worry about getting your Stat Points perfect, you are able to reset both your Stat and Skill Points in game for free when you are a Novice. The price will increase upon your Class and Level thereafter. To reset, the NPC is located in Kunlun.
Before completing your Novice, notice you are able to change the hairstyle via the left or right arrows next to the novice's head. The up arrow is also available to change the hair colour, hair colour may also be changed in game.
You are now ready to enter the world of Rune Midgards. You will begin just outside the Novice Training Grounds, which you can choose to complete or skip directly to Prontera City. I would recommend taking part in the training grounds as you will gain 6 Base Levels and 5 Job Levels if you speak to all the NPC's. See the Basic Gameplay Guide and/or the Novice Training Grounds Guide if necessary.

The training grounds also provides some useful Novice leveling gears and several usable items such as Novice Potions, (these can be used to heal yourself). Do not worry; if you die in this game you will not lose any experience points. In the training grounds you will also have the option of taking the personality test. If you happen to choose the class which the NPC predicts best suited for you, you will receive some additional usable items. Depending upon the class you have chosen, you will be sent to a building or an adjoining map to one of 6 cities: Prontera, Izlude, Payon, Alberta, Morroc or Geffen. To determine where you end up, use the '/where' command. If you chose not to do the Novice Training Grounds you will be sent to Prontera City by default.
You should now nearly be Job 10 unless you leveled further off the monsters in the training grounds. Depending upon which map you're starting on, you should be able to walk out the nearest warp, (indicated by the red dot(s) on the mini-map), and kill some of the low level monsters located there. Some of the monsters may include Poring, Drops, Picky, or Chonchon. If you are uncertain about a monster you can always use the Monster Database.

Congratulations, you can now proceed to making a First Class Character!

Getting Around Rune Midgards:

Perhaps you found the monsters near your location a little too difficult and wish to try somewhere else. You can either walk from map to map or use the Teleporter, there is usually at least 1 in each town. If you have chosen the walking option, Fly Wings could be your friend. This usable item will teleport you to a random location on your current map. As a Novice I would highly recommend using the Teleporter over walking, as to prevent unnecessary death.

The teleportation service is free for Novices, but once you job change it will cost 600 zeny to travel to a town and 1,200 zeny to travel to a dungeon. Teleportation to Prontera or the places listed in the 'Other' section are always free. You can buy teleportation credits in Alberta at the Furies Inc. Headquarters (101, 153). You can purchase 3 separate credit packages. When you teleport to a town 1 credit will be consumed; whereas, if you teleport to a dungeon 2 credits will be consumed.
The Teleporter can also be used to fully heal your health/hit points (hp). If you are no higher than a 50 Base leveled First Class Character, your spell/spirit points (sp) will also be fully regenerated.

Job Changing:

Hopefully you've now decided which class to become. For more information about each class, see the information below. You can either choose to use the Change Class Girl NPC located in a building in Prontera (136, 186) for 60,000 zeny, or do the specific Job Changing Quest for the class you wish to become.

The 10 possible jobs to choose from include Swordsman, Mage, Archer, Acolyte, Merchant, Thief, Ninja, Gunslinger, TaeKwon or Super Novice. For more information regarding First Classes please see the First Class FAQ Guide. As for Expanded Classes and Super Novice, feel free to browse through the Guide Forum. Images of each Class are shown below, (note hairstyles and colour are changeable).

For redirection to a specific Job Changing Quest, select the image of interest. (Note: certain guides missing.)

Kafra Service:

By now you've likely accumulated a variety of items. In order to lighten your load, you can find a Kafra NPC to store your items (maximum of 600 different items). Each time you open storage it will cost you 40 zeny. To put an item into storage, drag it from your character item window into your open storage window once you've talked to the Kafra.

The Kafra can also be used to Save on the current map, and rent a cart (if you are a Merchant Class or Super Novice).

Leveling:

Having created your first character you are probably quite interested in getting it rolling and playing with the skills it will gain. For tips on where to train take a look at the General Training 101 Guide or the other guides in the Guide Forum.
To read up on your characters skills, open the skill tree by using S + ctrl and select the minus sign in the top right corner of the window. Click the checkbox for skill descriptions to appear.

Another way to gain some quick and fairly easy levels is through the Experience Quests. These quests are for low level non-transdescendent characters. (Note: guide not made yet). You could also use the Adventurer NPC found in Prontera City (144, 230) for 2,000 zeny to request for a leveling party if you are tired of soloing. Some players may also be willing to help you if you take the time to ask around. If you are having trouble finding people, the majority of the players can be located by looking at the Popular Locations listed online. Notice the Adventurer NPC can also be used for a variety of other broadcasting purposes.

Items:

Throughout your travels you may have come across an assortment of items, be it cards, equipment or a random usable item. In order to make zeny off of these items you could either sell them to a variety of NPC's, vend them using a Merchant Class, or make a post on the forums for potential buyers. These options also can be used for finding the items you need. First you can check the Xenophase Item Database to help you determine the best items suited for your character. Then you could check out the shops in Prontera Toolshop (the current vending area). Finally, you could check the Ragnarok Marketplace forums on Xenophase for any additional needs. The Ragnarok Marketplace can also be used for price checking an item and auctioning an item.
For further information on how to vend, see the Vending Guide. Note: this guide was created in 2006 and Izlude is no longer the main vending city. Vending has been moved to inside Prontera Toolshop.

I spent time to type this all out. It is specific to Xenophase, the only website I know of that is specific to Xenophase is this Xenophase itself. I spend the time to type out all my guides. I even go through the actual game scripts to see if there are any additional item rewards and to find out the actual experience you gain from certain quests.
